The verb is perhaps the most important part of the sentence. A verb or compound verb asserts something about the subject of the sentence and express actions, events, or states of being. The verb or compound verb is the critical element of the predicate of a sentence.
In the last article about how to learn Portuguese we learned the Portuguese alphabet. To learn a new language takes time and I’ll break this article in 10 weeks, in every article 10 verbs will be cover.
- agree means concordar
e.g.: Eu concordo com todos os termos e condições.
I agree with all the terms and conditions.
. - do means fazer
e.g.: Eu não vou fazer nada amanhã.
I won’t do anything tomorrow.
. - know means saber
e.g.: Nós devemos saber da verdade
We must know the truth
. - read means ler
e.g.: Eu aprendi a ler quando tinha 4 anos de idade.
I learned how to read when I was 4 years old.
. - suggest means sugerir
e.g.: O que você sugere que eu faça?
What do you suggest I do?
. - allow means permitir
e.g.: Eu não posso permitir sua entrada.
I can’t allow you to get inside.
. - eat means comer
e.g.: Eu estou cansado de comer banana todo dia.
I’m tired of eat banana everyday.
. - learn means aprender
E.g: Eu quero aprender a falar português.
I want to learn how to speak Portuguese.
. - remember means lembrar
e.g.: Eu não consigo lembrar o seu nome.
I can’t remember your name.
. - take means tomar
e.g.: Você poderia tormar a bola do cachorro?
Could you take the ball from the dog?

Hey, good stuff, post more Portuguese lessons please. Estou aprendendo Portugues mas é um pouco dificil.
I used to speak a little Portuguese years and years ago but Ihaven’t been to Brazil for a long time, and I almost cry every time I see places I’ve been to (just saw a youtube clip from Bahia and wow, I miss it SO much). So while I’ve forgotten most of the Portuguese I once knew I decided I’m going to start learning it again. É uma lingua muita linda. So I’ll come back here for some additional lessons, I guess.
