‘Spider’ says ready to confront the U.S.fighter and says: ‘I don’t like him’

Anderson Silva finally publicly accepted the fight with the rival Chael Sonnen. However, the middleweight champion imposed one condition: that the fight happens in Brazil.
In an interview with “SB Nation” website given during his participation as a pilot of the pace car in a NASCAR race in Phoenix, the “Spider” said the long awaited rematch has not been set, and will not happen at UFC 143 in the weekend of the Super Bowl, as Sonnen asked. However, he suggested that the rival will get the opportunity to challenge him if he comes to Brazil.

- I do not like this guy. This guy (want) to fight me? Go to Brazil. No problem … Chael talk too much. I am ready to face Chael. But if you want the chance go to Brazil – said Anderson.
The rematch between the two is expected since August last year, when Anderson defeated his rival with a submission in the final round, after being dominated for most of the fight. Since then, Sonnen has launched provocations and challenges, often crossing the line – on one occasion, said that he’d invade Anderson’s home and give a slap on the butt of his wife. Last week Chael also said he’d use Palmeiras’ jersey in the fight since “Spider” now represents Corinthians. Last week, UFC’s President Dana White, insisted that the rematch will happen, although that needs time and place.

Another problem appear when a photo on the internet with Sonnen and Ed Soares, Anderson’s manager side by side in a relaxed atmosphere, it was speculated that the Brazilian would fire his manager.
When “SB Nation” asked, Anderson said he was really nervous about the situation, although he’ll still be his manager after the incident.
- It’s a problem. I do not like the picture, not like how my manger acted. That’s a big problem – Anderson said.

The UFC confirmed today that the Brazilian Anderson Silva, the UFC middleweight champion, will face his number one challenger Yushin Okami in Rio de Janeiro, UFC 134 on Aug. 27 2011. Dana White, UFC president, also announced four other fights that will take place at the Arena Bar, all involving Brazilian fighters.

The ninth title defense of Anderson the “Spider” Silva was already being speculated as part of the event since announcing the return of UFC to Brazil. The opponent will be the last man who defeated him in battle: the Japanese Okami won the fight against Anderson Silva on January 20, 2006, in the event ROTR – Rumble on the Rock. The defeat was controversial – Anderson dominated the fight, but he struck the opponent with a kick to the face while he was in the guard position, which by the rules of the event was prohibited and resulted in Anderson Silva disqualification.

In addition to Anderson Silva, Edson Barbosa, undefeated in eight fights in the UFC, has agreed verbally to face the British Ross Pearson, winner of MMA reality show “The Ultimate Fighter,”. Another great fight in the the UFC 134 is the rematch of Mauricio “Shogun” Rua against Forrest Griffin, who beat him in his UFC debut in 2007.

- These two former world champions always go with everything and this may be one of the most exciting fights of the year – said White about Shogun x Griffin fight.

Other Brazilians who will be on the card are lightweight Thiago Tavares, who faces Spencer Fisher, and Luis “Banha” Cane, which faces the undefeated Stanislav Nedkov in the category up to 205lbs.

The NFL playoffs are here, which means the field of teams has been narrowed from 32 to 12. With only a dozen remaining and the second season set to begin, it’s time for some Super Bowl predictions. Here are our picks for the two contestants in Super Bowl XLV:

AFC: New England Patriots

The Patriots are an obvious selection as they are the No. 1 seed in the AFC and won the most games during the regular season.

But why bet against them?

They play extremely well at home in games that Tom Brady starts, as evidence by the current streak of 27 straight regular season home wins in games that he begins. Furthermore, they are simply playing their best football right now and that includes mistake-free football.

The Pats set an NFL record for the fewest turnovers in a regular season and they simply don’t make many mistakes. Everything their opponents have to do is earned.

There are other good options in the AFC but we’ll stick with the favorites.

NFC: Green Bay Packers

They say defense wins championships, so why not stick with the best defense in the NFC?

The Green Bay Packers had the No. 2 scoring defense in the NFL and the top-ranked scoring defense in the NFC. They allow just 16.9 points per game and allowed only six rushing touchdowns all season long.

On offense, they have quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the best set of receivers in the NFL. They won’t have any home games but it might not matter to them. They are just playing with a lot of confidence right now and it’s going to take a very good effort from their opponent to slow them down.

They’re a bit of a long shot but with the best defense in the NFC and Rodgers, they’re built to do it.

Marta became the best women soccer player for the fifth consecutive time. At a Cerimony in Zurich, Marta received the award for the best women soccer player of the year 2010.

If I don’t cry it will not be as good as the last times – said Marta at the stage.

Marta didn’t dispute many competitions in 2010, but she was the best in all of them. Playing with FC Gold Pride, she won the WPS (Women Professional Soccer), United States Women Soccer League. In addition to that, she was the top scorer and the best player in the tournment for the second straight year.

With the Brazilian national team, Marta was crucial in the perfect campaign to win the South American League, who assured one spot in the FIFA World Cup in Germany 2011, scoring nine goals in seven games.

When asked about the crying in the stage, Marta answered that she was amazed with the number of awards she received for her performance during the last few years:

- This happens when the thrill of receiving an award of these, where a lot of people wants to win and I managed to win for the fifth consecutive time.

The number 10 that reminded she could not speak English after receiving the award because of nervousness and that takes pride in making his victory speech in Portuguese. About fashionable clothes, Martha joked:

- I feel so good, but I feel even better because of his shoe and even there I command – laughed.

I love Mixed Martial Arts and I really liked to watch the UFC events but today I refuse to watch it for a while after the UFC 117 fiasco.
Anderson Silva vs Chael Sonnen was the worst fight I’ve ever watched in my entire life. The fight was ugly since the beginning, Anderson Silva let Sonnen beat him up with no defense in the first four rounds.
To make it even worse in the last round Anderson Silva was able to finalized the fight with a triangle choke. I don’t know if this was planned before hand since previous fights of Anderson Silva were really bad but I’m pretty sure this fight was not real.
I’ve watched the last 12 fights of Anderson Silva, in all of them combined he wasn’t as apathetic as he was tonight. He’d never got punched like that, he’d got mounted like that and he’d never got humiliated like that.
I’m a big fan of Anderson Silva, I know he can do really good when he wants to but tonight he shows nothing but disgrace. His only excuse is that got his ribs injures and the doctor asked him not to fight.
Even if he were injured he wouldn’t fight like tonight. In my opinion he didn’t fight, he let Sonnen take advantage of him and he was “lucky” to win in the end.

The next UFC event will have Frank Edgar defending his title against BJ Pen. The effect will take place in Boston, Massachusetts on August 28th 2010.

Ferrari once again made one of their pilots give up the victory in order to give privileges to the pilot with more points in the championship. The funny part is that in both ocassions the pilot who gave up the victory is from Brazil. Today the pilot Felipe Massa was leading the GP until the lap 49 when Ferrari’s administrators asked him by radio to slow down in order to Fernando Alonso to take the lead and win the race.

In my opinion, this a big shame for a team like Ferrari. They should the pilots compete against themselves to proof who is the best. At least this time the pilot gave up in the middle of the race. In 2002 the same thing happened when the pilot Rubens Barrichelo had to stop the car in the last lap in order for Michael Schumacher to win the race and eventually the championship that year.

After the race, Felipe Massa try to justify saying that he doesn’t consider himself as the second pilot, even though Fernando Alonso is F1 two times champion. He mentioned that he let Fernando win because he isn’t doing a good job this year and it was better for the whole team.

Following their controversial one-two result at the German Grand Prix, Ferrari have been fined US$100,000 by the FIA after race stewards deemed they had breached sporting regulations.

The next Gran Prix will be in Hungaroring, Budapest on August 1st 2010 T 12:00 UTC

Brazil’s President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva refuted on Tuesday the criticisms made to the organization of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, which is to take place in the country.

According to the president, some think that Brazilians are ” idiots” and do not know how to make the necessary improvements for the tournament.

“The African Cup has just ended and they have already started asking ‘where are the Brazilian airports?’, where are the Brazilian bus lanes?,” the president said, not elaborating on who “they” are.

“As if we were a bunch of idiots who do not know how to make things, how to define our priorities.”

The pressure for Brazil to make the necessary projects to host the next World Cup has increased in the past month, due to the proximity of the tournament, the fact that many reforms necessary to the Cup have yet to start, and to the problems with airports seen in South Africa.

President Lula also commented on the Rio-Sao Paulo bullet train project. According to the president, the train will be ready by 2016 when Rio will host the Olympic Games. He stressed the importance of the project and the difficulties to make the bullet train possible.

“I think Brazil needs it (the train) and I think that Rio and Sao Paulo need it because they are the most important cities in Brazil,” he said

The public bidding process for the bullet train’s construction will take place in mid-December.
