If you like water slides you will love “Insano”, the world’s tallest water slide located in the Beach Park in Fortaleza, Ceará.
The Insano is a 41 meters water slide. It has the same vertical inclination of a building with 14 floors.
Because of the its height and inclination, the water slide provides an extremely fast descent – only five seconds – at a speed of 105 km/h. For these characteristics, the Insano is considered the most radical water slide in the world. At the end of the course, the Insane provides a relaxing dip in the pool.

Take a look at some pictures of Insano water slide:

Sun and sea become part of the menu of Brazilian tourists.

With the dollar in high demand, many people who dream to travel overseas decided to stay in Brazil and spend real. For the Brazilian association of travel agents, tourism in the country should grow more than 20%.

Who was already with tickets bought before the turbulence caused by the international financial crisis traveled anyway. But with the dollar and the euro in high demand, the way will be reducing purchases.

What is damage to some, becomes a good business opportunity for others. If the number of international travel decreased, travel agents invest in other routes: cheaper, closer and also fun.

Sun and sea

Tourism in Brazil marks the beginning of a good season. Sun, sea and natural beauty to please the most demanding tourist. The Northeast should be one of the most sought.

According to Jorge Sales, the Brazilian Association of Travel Agents (ABAV), the domestic tourism should grow more than 20%. “With this episode, we are expecting a terms of 40% to 45% more in sales of domestic products.”

Last year alone, 10 million Brazilians traveled across the country. And as many people said: “Brazil is still the best,”.

I couldn’t find a better way to show Rio de Janeiro better than a movie. This movie is perfect to show everything you can find in there.

And it doesn’t stop there. Brazil has a great variety of cultures, different types of land, vegetation. But what’s most amazing to me is the amount of variety you can find in such a relatively small state. One of the most well known shores of the world: Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon. And that’s in the city. A two hour drive heading east will take you to breath taking beaches, where you’ll enjoy more reserved and rustic paradises like Buzios, Cabo Frio and Saquerema, the Brazilian capital of surf. Or even a little more south and you’ll find Angra dos Reis and Parati.

The west part of the state offers great mountain-like surroundings. Another great opportunity to immerse ourselves in the great culture Rio offers. In Petrópolis, you’ll be able to visit castles, museums, and historical building like the house of Carlos Drummond de Andrade. You’ll be able to enjoy, again breath taking, waterfalls, rivers. Indulge in the great food. The sweets are my favorite!
So pack away, make sure to bring plenty of sunscreen, insect repellent, and of course your camera with plenty of memory. You’ll need it!

Some countries are eligible to go to Brazil without the necessity to get a VISA. For the countries which aren’t part of this group check out the requirements to get a VISA to Brazil.

One of the scariest things when you’re visiting another country is to get lost. Imagine yourself in a place where you can’t communicate in your native language and you’re lost, that’s not a good picture.

Even worse if one of your kids get lost, unfortunately I won’t talk about kids in this article perhaps in a future one.

If you get lost in Brazil it won’t be different from any other country. The best way to find out how to get back to your hotel is to look for help. You can start asking questions to people on the street.

Some precautions before you get lost

Here are some precautions you should take when traveling overseas:

Always have some cash in case of emergency;

Get an unlocked cellphone that works with GSM 850, GSM 1800 and GSM 1900 at least. Buy credits to your cellphone (It’s obvious but some people forget to do that);

Get the hotel address and telephone number;

Get your country embassy address and telephone number;

Get a telephone number of the taxi company suggested by the hotel;

Get a phone card in case of the cellphone doesn’t work;

Get a pocket dictionary with you all the time;

Get a map of the city you’re visiting;

If you’re driving, you must get a GPS;

How to start a conversation if you’re lost

I made up a conversation between a tourist that is lost and a native person. I colored the talk to make it easier to understand. If the person don’t want to help you don’t bother and look for somebody else.

- Excuse me, can I talk to you?
Com licenca, posso falar com você ?

- Yes. Do you need something?
Sim. Você precisa de alguma coisa?

- Yes. I’m lost I don’t know how to go back to the hotel. Can you please help me?
Sim. Eu estou perdido e não sei voltar para o hotel. Você pode me ajudar por favor?

- Do you have the hotel address?
Voce tem o endereço do hotel?

- Yes I do. I have the hotel’s business card.
Sim. Eu tenho o cartão do hotel.

- I think you should get a taxi. It’d be the easier and safer way to get there.
Eu acho que você deveria pegar um taxi. É a maneira mais fácil e segura de chegar lá.

- I don’t have any taxi company phone number.
Eu não tenho nenhum número de empresa de táxi.

- Then you should call the hotel and ask them to call the taxi company for you.
Então você deveria chamar para o hotel e pedir para eles perdirem um táxi para você.

If you didn’t understand the way he/she explained to you, then you should try to talk to someone else on the street and if possible write down the name of the street you’re located, so you can let the hotel’s receptionist know where you are and she/he can call the taxi for you.

Finally, back at the hotel

Hopefully you will be able to talk to the hotel receptionist and she/he will call a taxi for you. If not, you should look for any police officer and ask him for help.
By the way, the police phone number in Brazil is 190. You can call the police office from any public telephone on the street.

I know many people who read this article don’t pretend to spend time learning this conversation, but if you get lost one day you’ll remember that you should’ve learned it.

I’m pretty sure if you follow all the instructions I mentioned in this article you’ll be safer than never if you get lost in Brazil.

Porto de Galinhas isn’t only popular in high season, but in every single weekend of the year. The most famous beach of the southern coast of Pernambuco has 4 km long and it’s very impressive by the contrast between the greenish-blue waters and coral reefs. The natural pools, where at low tide you can see fish of various species, are also an attraction.

To reach the swimming pools (walk inside or using a raft) we must observe the times of the tides: if early morning, on foot, you must return before the tide rising, or you have to swim back to the shore.

Porto de Galinhas has broad infrastructure of bars, restaurants, hotels and inns, plus the center of the city offers many shops, handicrafts stores and fashion stores beach.

Located in the municipality of Ipojuca, approximately 53 km from Recife, Porto de Galinhas is a major tourist centres of the southern coast Pernambuco. They are 18 km of coconut trees and baobás, pools of clear water and warm formed from coral, mangroves and estuaries.

The Beach of Porto de Galinhas is right in front of the town with a variety of restaurants, bars and cafes where you can choose what you want: seafood, Japanese sushi, Italian food or dishes prepared with bunches of fruit and roots of region.

The chicken on top of the coconut palm is the symbol of the city. On the left, starts to Praia do Cupe, the scenario chosen by the majority of inns and hotels. In the other direction appears Maracaípe, redoubt of surfers, where every year is the Brazilian Circuit of Surf. Take a leap also by Wall High, where access is through dune buggys. It is one of those divine places: a large natural pool, with 3 km long, white sand, and water totally transparent. In the High Wall calm waters are protected by a wall of coral and filled with coconut trees. The most diverse species of colorful fish are found: xiras, caraúnas and saberês.

Some countries are eligible to go to Brazil without the necessity to get a VISA. For the countries which aren’t part of this group check out the requirements to get a VISA to Brazil.

Talk about the State of São Paulo is always in the superlative. It has the largest population, the largest industrial park, the largest economic production, the highest record of immigrants.

São Paulo is also known for its unreliable weather, the sheer size of its helicopter fleet, architecture and multitude of skyscrapers. The São Paulo/Guarulhos International Airport connects São Paulo with many Brazilian cities and also operates international flights.

Economic facts

São Paulo is consider the financial and economic capital of Brazil, the city is the largest in Brazil and fifth in the world by population and is located in the South East of the country. It is also the richest city of Brazil.

It was built with the force and the hard work of people from all parts of Brazil and the world, keeping each piece rooted in this land is intended to work. They are 645 municipalities and a population that exceeds 40 million residents. With the best infrastructure and workforce qualified, Sao Paulo can even be called “The locomotive of Brazil.” The State produces all, especially high-tech products. But the emphasis is not only in industry. The Sao Paulo also has agriculture and livestock.

In the economy, out of 260 shopping centers in the country, 94 are located in the state, accounting for more than 200 thousand jobs, and a broad network wholesaler and retailer spread by municipalities.

Tourism

The North Coast or North Shore, begins less than an hour’s drive from the city at the town of Santos, and about an hour later, the SP-55 highway (also known as Rio-Santos) is tracing a beautiful coastline of lush but rugged green hills towering over a shoreline of rocky coves and sandy beaches.

Some of the most sought-after beaches are within the municipality (more a county than a city) of São Sebastião.

But there is a scene for everyone, from the energetic, youthful resort town of Maresias, to the idyllic beaches tucked into the hills at Toque Toque Grande and Toque Toque Pequeno, to the unpretentious colonial center of São Sebastião that also serves as the ferry station to Ilhabela, a green Goliath of an island that looms just off the coast, full of upscale restaurants and hotels.

I wrote an article about how to get a VISA to Brazil. Check out here.
